Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed the importance of Europe's participation in the peace talks on Ukraine, noting that China actively supports any initiatives aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis. China insists that European states should play a decisive role in this process, which reflects its desire for a multilateral approach to resolving global conflicts. However, in light of the uncertainty of Donald Trump's position, who has not yet presented a clear strategy on this issue, China expresses a clear intention to act taking into account his possible decisions, trying to balance them with its own interests. China's position is to counteract Trump's policy, which could lead to separate agreements between the United States and Russia that do not take into account the opinions of Ukraine and Europe. This creates a special dynamic in which China insists on the mandatory participation of Ukraine and the European Union in the negotiations on the settlement of the conflict, recalling the importance of an inclusive approach. In addition, against the backdrop of these political changes, the Kremlin maintains its strategic restraint. Moscow may have already accepted a secondary role in this process, as its position does not arouse much interest in either the US or Europe, and the Kremlin cannot offer significant initiatives in the context of the new world order. China is actively involved in global peacekeeping efforts, for example, in 2021 it offered its platform for peace talks on the situation in Afghanistan, which confirms its desire for a peaceful settlement of international conflicts.
