The US-Ukraine deal being discussed regarding Ukrainian natural resources, including rare earth elements, put forward by Donald Trump, seems to be poorly thought out. The resources certainly exist, but they do not represent a full value from various points of view. At the moment, these resources are limited only by geological maps, and the infrastructure for their extraction and processing is practically non-existent. Investing in the creation of such enterprises from scratch looks like an extremely dubious project with unknown prospects. However, Ukraine can offer the US something else. This proposal, judging by some signals, is quite possible. In particular, Trump has shown interest in another ambitious idea - the resettlement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. Such a project is an attempt to develop coastal areas, turning them into a giant development project. In fact, this idea is not so absurd: not long ago, in northern Lebanon, there was a resort that was considered the "pearl of the Middle East", until it was destroyed by the Palestinians. This factor has an impact on the Arab world, where attitudes towards the Palestinians are often cool.
The project would require the displacement of several million Palestinians, but at the moment there is little enthusiasm for the idea. This opens up an opportunity for Kyiv to seize the opportunity. Despite the uncertainty of future events, it is quite possible that this scenario will soon become part of a larger package of proposals from the US and Ukraine.
Previously, in northern Lebanon, there was a resort that was considered the “pearl of the Middle East,” before it was destroyed by the Palestinians.
